Throughout the years you occasionally stumble across a band that you have not heard off before and end up asking yourself why have you have not heard of them. DAMC are one such band. Formed in 2004 this California based act are quickly making a name for themselves, already grabbing opening slots for the likes of LA Guns, Gilby Clarke and former Motley Crue vocalist John Corabi just to name a few acts.
Imagine travelling back in time and watching Rob Zombie when he was first starting off, when White Zombie, as he was performing as back then, was cutting there fangs and before all of the remix albums took the shine of what should have been one of the most cutting edge acts of there time. Well that is exactly what you have got here.
With ‘Dead To The World’ Death Alley Motor Cult produce a great album. Merging the ‘zombie vibe’ from White Zombie with the crossover post punk choruses from Killing Joke producing songs that ooze raw, adrenalin packed, fist pumping action as tracks like ‘Devil Sex’, ‘American Nightmare’, ‘13 Steps’ and ‘Dead To The World’ kick in and are guaranteed to put a smile on the face of the hardened Zombie fan.
DAMC throw a cover of Elvis Presley’s ‘Suspicious Minds’ into the album, which you will either love or hate, but that aside this album represents a great introduction to the band and I look forward to hearing the new release when it comes out .
